Healthy foods for a healthy lifestyle

Caribbean Health Foods Ltd., formerly known as College Health Foods, was established on the campus of the University of the Southern Caribbean (formerly CUC) in 1987. Lodged in the scenic Maracas Valley in Trinidad, this company was founded with one mission – to manufacture and distribute nutritious food alternatives during a time when healthy lifestyles were emerging in the Caribbean region.

The company is owned and governed by the Seventh-day-Adventist World Organization. It is based on the writings of Ellen G. White, who was instrumental in scripting the importance of healthy eating choices as well as the preparation of healthy foods. The company offers a wide variety of products ranging from frozen soya patties, canned foods, whole grain cereals, cookies and snacks, dehydrated soya, soya milk, and a wide range of wholesome breads.
Caribbean Health Foods has approximately 150 employees in five stores in Trinidad. There is one new distribution center located in Antigua. It distributes to some of the largest chain stores in Trinidad and Tobago, including: Massy Stores, Tru-Valu Supermarkets, JTA Supermarkets, PriceSmart, Persad Supermarket, Super Quality, and Xtra Foods, as well as small and medium supermarkets and mini-marts. The company also exports its products to Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Antigua, Dominica, Guyana, and Suriname.
