Fujitsu operates globally with a unified direction
Mervyn Eyre has a lot of things to boast about.
After all, the president/CEO of Fujitsu’s Caribbean,
Central American and Mexican operation is part of a
company with assets that include global reach, indus-
try-wide reputation and a wealth of resources.
But what the Trinidad-based executive most quickly
points out is that the world-class encounters for cus-
tomers in the region have been provided by talent not
always respected for its service acumen.
“Everything we are doing, we are doing it with Carib-
bean people, with Mexican people, with Central Ameri-
can people. Our entire staff are Caribbean-based, are
Caribbean citizens,” he said.
“Many people think that the region will not be able to
deliver first-class experiences, world-class experienc-
es. We’re very proud that we’ve done that with Carib-
bean people in a Caribbean space. That’s where we’ve
stood out. That’s an important part of the story that we
want to tell. We’ve been able to change to a perception
that says that Caribbean business and government
can actually get the benefit of world-class experiences
in their space with Caribbean people.”
Eyre recently celebrated his 16th anniversary as an ex-
ecutive team member of Fujitsu America, with regional
responsibilities that include defining and executive
