T he Turks & Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) is a statutory body responsible for the develop- ment, management, and upkeep of all state-owned aerodromes within the “Beautiful by Nature” Turks and Ca- icos Islands (TCI). Governed by Ordinance 11 of 2005, the TCIAA was formed following the split of the Civil Aviation Department into the Civil Aviation Authority and Airports Authority. The Airports Authority is mandated for “the con- structing, controlling, and managing of airports; providing and maintaining runways, taxiways, and terminals for the efficient operation of airports; providing facilities for Cus- toms and Immigration services, and health and security checks; and for incidental and connected purposes.” DESTINATION: PARADISE!
