According to David Wong, the company’s current Man- aging Director, Kelly was looking for a new project to engage in, just as the bottled water trend was begin- ning to appear on the scene in North America. “It started out as a project,” Wong says, “just to see what would happen.” What began merely as a hobby for Kelly, Charles Johnston, and another partner, Bev- erley Lopez, became a multi-million dollar company within a few short years.
