It began life as the Western Tractor Supply, established in 1969 as a dealer in replacement tractor parts and farm equipment. In 1985, Peter Thiessen, Westrac’s current CEO, along with several other investors, was given the opportunity to buy shares in the company. The new stakeholders soon began expanding its portfolio to include auto parts, travelling to the city of Corozal for goods they would buy wholesale and then resell, locally, at retail.
