Business View Caribbean - July 2024

EDITOR’S NOTES July is in full swing across the stunning water- drenched beach-lined shores of the Caribbean. For those lucky enough to visit the islands during the height of summer, it is not only the beautiful landmarks that are worth noting, achievements of local business and industry are also a marvel to witness. Based on tourism numbers, many visitors are soaking up what the region offers during the popular summer season. Indicators remain positive for many regions throughout the Caribbean islands, and this trend is set to continue. Economies throughout the islands remain robust as we enter the second half of 2024 and see no signs of slowing down. For July’s issue of Business View Caribbean, we sat down with the Turks and Caicos Islands Port Authority. We explored how this island nation is thriving by importing goods and services. The port authority is helping to facilitate this commercial traffic and playing a key role in the overall strength of the country’s economy. While tourists may be staying at the many resorts around the islands, some may be renting houses to experience the local feel of the region. With construction booming, key companies are filling in the need for top plumbing or electrical services as homes are being built in fast supply across the region. For Plugworks, providing the very best contractural expertise and plumbing services is what it does best. Developing a reputation as a leading player in trade services, we discovered how this company is looking to expand its reach throughout the Caribbean. It is as clear as the crystal waters surrounding the islands that continued growth is on the Caribbean horizon, as are the progressive initiatives of those we were fortunate to chat with. With sustainability in mind, best business practices up front, and a resilient economy at their fingertips, the undeniable draw of the Caribbean islands remains tangible. As with every issue, my hope as Editor in Chief is that our valued readers continue to learn something new with each issue we produce for you.
