116 117 T he Housing & Land Development Corporation (HLDC) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines was established by an Act of Parliament in 1976. Its mandate is to facili- tate the Government’s policy in providing affordable housing opportunities for the people of the country, especially those of lower incomes. The HLDC is a state-owned enterprise, reporting to the Ministry of Housing, and governed by a Chairman and a Board of Directors. The agency employs about 32 permanent staff members.
