I just want to take a moment to thank you all for your very encouraging letters, messages, and comments. I can’t tell you how much it energizes our team to know that you have really been appreciating what we do here. I know you might be used to me putting words in your mouth about Business View Caribbean being your very favorite mag- azine in the world. But the truth is that we’re not always certain that it’s the case. (I know it’s quite presumptive to assume that it is; however in defense of those boastful comments, I will say that based upon our analytics, rate of subscriptions, website visi- tors, and Google declaring in every possible way that we’re the leading, largest, and best business-to-business executive business publication in the Caribbean, I’m generally quite confident that I’m spot on about us be- ing quite favored.) However, all of the letters and comments from you, our readers, give us that confident edge that’s needed to make sure that we continue to feature the region’s companies while exploring topics that are unique, compelling and informative. In looking through the bulk of our letters, it seems that we’re most appreciated for be- ing a magazine that is not one big, gigantic advertisement.Well, we discovered some time ago that we didn’t want to be a maga- zine that was bought and paid for by compa- nies that had no interest in the content we were publishing, or the businesses that we were featuring. While it was lucrative to us as a business, we had become a publication that had Mercedes Benz, Rolex, Coca Cola, and Ralph Lauren ads on every other page. We immediately took action to create a model that was complementary to our goal of bringing an executive light to companies of the Caribbean to all in the Caribbean, as well as to those in North America who invest and do business in the Caribbean. This is why the only companies that are allowed to market in Business View Caribbean are companies that have received a personal invitation from a company being featured in our publication, or have a direct relation to the topic or company discussed. Many times some of those companies are Mercedes, Rolex, and Coca Cola, and I’m glad that they’re happy when they’ve been invited to participate. However, it is most pleasing to see other, not so well-known companies that may have been on our wait- ing list for quite some time, receive one of these invites. Because, it is those companies that relish this opportunity the most, and it is those companies that are most instrumen- tal to the others that we may be featuring. We appreciate and take your business with us very seriously, and we guarantee widespread exposure and visibility to those in our pages. It’s the reason we have a wait- ing list to advertise and market within our publication that’s a few miles long. However, we have to stick to the plan that got us here. We must continue to make sure that it’s the content that is driving our readership and not the ad dollars from brands that, quite frankly, saturate and overpower the content of most magazines. That said, thank you again for all your encouragement. As long as you appreciate us, we can go the distance. Until next time, plan, build, and continue to prosper.
