Business View Caribbean - Mar 2024

EDITOR’S NOTES March may mark a lucky one for many as St Patrick’s Day is celebrated around the world. Luck is also on the side of tourists who are fortunate to visit the beautiful aquamarine-lined shores of the beautiful Caribbean region. For locals who get to live and work in the Caribbean Islands full time, a ‘charmed’ life always awaits. Boasting tourism numbers equal to, and sometimes surpassing pre-COVID numbers, economies that are both strong and resilient throughout the islands, as well as a housing sector that is booming, this region of the world also has a lot to celebrate beyond St Patrick festivities as spring beckons. For March’s issue of Business View Caribbean, we were also lucky to be able to profile leading Caribbean-based organizations and companies based in the thriving islands. Companies based in the region, spanning all business sectors, as well as leading government-based organizations, are applying laser-focused vision and the drive to carry out top-tier initiatives, proving that luck in the end may have very little to do with their continued success. While Locals continue to look at home improvements, tourists are looking for the best spot to enjoy all that the island life can offer. Construction Services and Supplies Ltd fills the needs of the locals both on the commercial and residential side providing leading construction designs coupled with the expertise to construct the best results. We spoke with their team to learn a little more about their recipe for island infrastructure success. Holiday Inn Resort, Aruba offers the ticket to complete island relaxation with outstanding resort amenities and a setting that the competitors can not match. We sat down with the executive team to discuss the increase in tourist numbers booking with them and the world-class experience that guests can enjoy when staying at their top-tier facilities. We also profiled a leading government-based organization in the British Virgin Islands, the BVI Health Services Authority to discuss the healthcare programs that are in place to both successfully help residents as well as help bolster the strength of the local economy. It is as clear as the crystal waters surrounding the islands that continued growth is on the Caribbean horizon, as are the progressive initiatives of those we were fortunate to chat with. All the organizations we were fortunate to interview set the bar high in their respective business agendas and demonstrated the drive towards excellence we have seen time and time again across the region. With sustainability in mind, best business practices up front, and a resilient economy at their fingertips, the undeniable draw of the Caribbean islands remains tangible. As with every issue, my hope as Editor in Chief is that our valued readers continue to learn something new with each issue we produce for you. May luck also be on your side through the month of March and always! Karen Surca Editor in Chief Dear Readers, 2 BUSINESS VIEW CARIBBEAN VOLUME 11, ISSUE 03
