33 BUSINESS VIEW CARIBBEAN MARCH 2020 EXPO JAMA I CA 2020 Kingston, Expo Jamaica will once again become the one-stop hub for Jamaica to do business and expose the prowess of its productive sectors to local consumers and the rest of the world. The multi-sectorial exposition will showcase manufacturers, service providers, primary producers and exporters, as well as the tourism industry, hosting a diverse range of forward- thinking exhibitors from promising startups to established industry leaders. In 2018, the show played host to 219 exhibitors, 568 buyers, and 21,442 consumers. This year, Expo Jamaica 2020 is hosted for the first time by the newly formed Jamaica Manufacturers Exporters Association (JMEA) – a merger of Jamaica Manufacturers and Jamaica Exporters Associations – under the theme: “A Vision of The Future.” The Opportunity Expo Jamaica has created a platform that allows all of Jamaica’s productive industries, including agribusiness, manufacturing, and services to meet buyers from international grocery chains, distribution houses, retailers, importers, local hotel purchasing managers, and even potential partners during two exclusive trade days, Thursday April 30 and Friday, May 1. Expo Jamaica exposes local industries to more than 20,000 local consumers over these two days. And consumers get a chance to experience the excitement of an authentic Jamaican marketplace! To date: 409 registered local buyers and 227 overseas buyers have been recruited from 21 countries. Registrants represent Antigua, Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Barbados, Canada, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, USA, Haiti, Switzerland, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos, Trinidad & Tobago, United Kingdom, USA, USVI, and Jamaica.
