Business View Caribbean - August 2015 7

Good day, executives! It’s time to view the businesses that, once again,
we’ve placed on your table to glance over, analyze, and determine if there
is anything of value in there that you might be able to either implement or
eradicate from your business model, practices, and/or mission. I want to
thank all of those who chimed in on our last edition, wherein we featured
Trinidad’s communication giant, Telecommunication Services of Trinidad &
Tobago. The CEO of TSTT, Ronald Walcott, graced our cover and filled our
pages with some thought-provoking insight, not only on TSTT and its opera-
tions, but on communications in general and the thought process behind
driving a company into the future.
Not since our feature about Jamaica’s Ministry of Finance & Planning that
had Minister Peter Philips gracing the cover back in December of last year, has there been so much feedback
regarding one of our features. Most of you just complimented us on how well-rounded and informative the edi-
torial was; others of you seemed to identify more with the actual figurehead, Mr. Walcott, reflecting upon ways
to address and seize future opportunities within your own sector. Well, regardless of exactly what prompted you
to take that moment to send your comments, I just want to thank you for your input. It’s what allows us to know
that we are making the impact that our mission statement has specified: To inform, enlighten, and empower
executives with facts, data, and commentary that will compel them to become engaged with our publication,
and to identify with our chosen subjects and business editorials. Thanks to you, I get to turn to my team, while
offering a celebratory toast that simply says “Well done, Business View. Well done!”
After looking over this past year’s issues of Business View Caribbean, I’ve realized that we’ve made an attempt
to separate ourselves from other Caribbean publications by making sure that we focus on business as opposed
to travel, vacation, and leisure. We believe that you have more than enough publications that can brief you on
the best islands to visit and resorts in which to reside. However, we cannot deny that tourism is a major compo-
nent of the Caribbean economy. For that reason, we mustn’t neglect that importance within the pages of what
appears to have become one of your favorite publications (if it’s okay with you, we’re just going to assume that’s
a true assessment of your sentiments about us, thank you very much!).
That being said, within our pages this month, we are featuring a few beautiful resorts whose operations have
been recognized and highlighted in a manner that we’re sure will fulfill your thirst for business savvy statistics,
coupled with your interest in how you just may choose to spoil yourself, once you finally make the decision to
kick your feet up and take a few days off.
So, until next month…plan, build, and continue to prosper.
Thank you for your readership.
