solutions in higher education.”
Continuing on its thrust to move forward technologi-
cally, Adams stresses that UCC’s focus is on the use of
technology to deliver the right combination of courses
in “the right modality – not only through the traditional
face-to-face model.” Thus, the University has expand-
ed its offerings via MOOCs (the Massive Open Online
Courses platform) through a partnership with one of
the largest providers in the world, Courser. Coursera is
an education company that partners with top universi-
ties and organizations worldwide, to provide low-cost,
flexible, and accessible online learning. “We are proud
to be a Caribbean-based partner and we are looking
to roll out programs that will reach a larger number
of prospects at a much lower cost,” Adams says. “At
UCC, we believe in fostering the development of the
business leader of tomorrow. As a consequence, we
are always interested in opportunities that allow us to
meet the needs of our students’ changing lifestyles.”
In 2014, UCC also partnered with Leadercast, a lead-
ership development consortium that facilitates an an-
nual one-day leadership simulcast to over 100,000
corporate and civic leaders, worldwide, as well as on-
line seminars which are available 24/7/365. After two
years of hosting the Leadercast Simulcast in Jamaica,
the University has broadened the scope of its leader-
ship development program through its UCC Leadership
Series. This recently-launched initiative began with
UCC Power Mornings - a platform for a select cadre of
established local and international business leaders
to share their most effective tools and strategies on
leadership with C-level executives, middle managers,
and emerging leaders. The program continues with the
