US ramps up for Cuba access
Despite clear evidence of the pent-up desire in the
North American market – the largest source market
for tourists to The Bahamas – for access to a slow-
ly opening Cuba, tourism officials in The Bahamas
seem to be taking the news of restored commercial
airline service between Cuba and the U.S. more or
less in stride.
Last week the U.S. and Cuba agreed to restore
scheduled commercial airline service between the
two countries for the first time in more than five de-
cades, exactly a year after they started the process
of normalizing relations. The aviation agreement will
