Secret Bay
Dominica’s award-winning eco-luxury resort
Dominica is an island country in the Lesser Antilles re-
gion of the Caribbean Sea. It is known as the “Nature
Isle” for its unspoiled, natural beauty and its spectac-
ularly lush and varied flora and fauna. Dominica has
many rivers, waterfalls, black and white sand beaches,
mountains, forests, and springs, as well as the world’s
second largest volcanically heated boiling lake. Com-
pared to many other Caribbean islands, Dominica is
sparsely populated, since much of the island is pro-
tected by an extensive national park system. It is a
paradise for hikers, birdwatchers and nature-lovers, as
well as a world-famous destination for scuba divers,
snorkelers, and whale-watchers.
Secret Bay, the island’s first eco-luxury resort, is situ-
ated on Dominica’s northwest coast, atop a breath-
taking cliff top overlooking Ti-bay Beach and the
soft white sands of Secret Beach. The secluded villa
complex is just a 10-minute drive to the quaint town
of Portsmouth and about an hour’s drive to Roseau,
Dominica’s capital. Secret Bay was built by Dominican-
born Gregor Nassief who fell in love with the area as a
child and dreamed one day of living there. He recounts
the story of the resort’s genesis:
