Dear Readers,
Summer has hit the islands and as the sun beats down, tourists continue to hit the blue crystal water-lined beaches in souring numbers. While tourists may be arriving in droves with the intent to slow down, relax and unwind, the opposite can be said about the companies we were fortunate to profile for this month’s issue of Business View Caribbean.
Although catering to tourists continues to be a top economic driver throughout the Caribbean, other sectors are booming. Second, only to the region’s tourism sector is the fast-moving island-based construction sector. Companies within this field are seizing on the area’s thriving housing sector opportunities. Those with the right mix of business savvy and competitive edge are taking profit with a host of projects in the pipeline to prove it.
Continuing where we left off in our last issue, for our July lineup, our editorial team sat down for two more in-depth interviews with several of the island’s leading sector-leading companies.
For both companies, continued growth is on the Caribbean horizon, as is the specialized knowledge of what housing requirements top the list for local resident needs.
Caribbean Housing Ltd and Integrated Construction Services spoke to us about the need for additional housing stock as well as discussing the prime locations and lands on which to build existing projects. Other topics included the unique construction needs of the islands and the necessity to listen to what local residents are looking for.
With sustainability in mind, best business practices up front, and a resilient economy at their fingertips, the companies we were pleased to profile highlight the draw of the Caribbean islands.
As with every issue, my hope as editor is that our valued readers continue to learn something as you also take your holidays and relish in the delights of the summer with family and friends.
