A resort of contemporary luxury in a beach-side setting
Mount Cinnamon Resort and Beach Club is a boutique hotel that sits on a hillside overlooking Grand Anse Beach, Grenada, considered one of the most beautiful stretches of pristine, white, soft-powder sand in the world. Set amidst exotic tropical gardens, the 22, seafacing one bedroom suites and one, two, and three bedroom villas, designed by Peter de Savary, offer its guests the perfect Caribbean getaway.
Each of Mount Cinnamon’s suites and villas includes a furnished balcony offering pool and sea views; air-conditioning; an airy sitting room with large doors to the outdoor living area; a modern, fully- equipped gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar; cable TV; beautiful artwork; a Bose sound system; wireless internet; crisp Italian linens; and luxury towels and bathrobes.
The resort has two restaurants: Savvy’s, an open air location perfect for sunset dinners, with its stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and Grenada’s dramatic mountains, and the Beach Cabana. Both serve contemporary caribbean dishes fused with Creole style, using fresh, local ingredients – many of which are harvested from the resort’s own, private plantation, or captured from the island’s surrounding waters. And breakfast is included, every day.
Facilities include the Cabana Beach Club, where light dining, BBQ, and refreshments are served throughout the day; scuba-diving at the Mount Cinnamon Dive Center; beach and non-motorized water sports, including kayaks, paddleboards, and Hobie Cat catamarans; an alfresco massage cabana; a swimming pool with adjacent cocktail bar; tennis and croquet; a fully-equipped gymnasium; spa treatments; and daily yoga classes.
Of course, guests are also encouraged to just snorkel and swim, or merely lounge about throughout the day with drink in hand. The more adventurous, though, are always welcome to explore Grenada’s stunning mountainous topography, soaring waterfalls, and colorful tropical rain forests on a guided island hiking tour, go river-tubing, or visit one of the island’s hot sulphur springs, or its renowned underwater sculpture garden just north of the capital town of St. Georges. Tours of the island’s colonial forts and spice plantations are always an option, as well.
After the sun goes down, guests can find music, food, and entertainment at the bars and night clubs of St. Georges and other parts of the island. At the end of the day, though, visitors will always want to return to Mount Cinnamon’s prized, coastal location, where the vibe is low-key and relaxed, and the service is always friendly and reliable.
