Executive View July 2018

Executive View in text on top of blue water.

When I say “Business” you say “View”, “BUSINESS!!!” (your turn), “BUSINESS!!!” (again please). When I say, “Who’s the bestest, most informative, most compelling, and furthest reaching business to business magazine with the widest circulation for executives in the Caribbean, you say “YOU!” (Inhale, deep breath, and) “Who’s the bestest, most informative, most compelling, and furthest reaching business to business magazine with the widest circulation for executives in the Caribbean?” (Go ahead, you know the answer… say it loud please?!?)

That’s right! And we’re not ashamed to remind you. In fact, it’s our duty to remind you. We are constantly amazed at the amount of feedback we get from multi-million and multi-billion-dollar companies in Caribbean and North America about the companies we feature. A lot of that feedback is simply a few lines, writing to commend us on a compelling editorial. However, what really amazes us is when these companies call us to make an introduction to the company that we featured, because they’ve become interested in doing business with them. Imagine that? Our publisher reaching out to the executives of the companies that we’re featuring, to make an introduction of the CEO of a company that wants to engage in business with them. We’ve been offered financial rewards as a result of accommodating these requests, to which my publisher has refused. We have been offered many other perks and benefits that we have followed suit in declining. I can’t tell you how good it feels to do something, simply because you’re in a position to do it, and because you’re respected as the entity that can make something like that happen. Don’t get me wrong, we like money, but we know that when you practice service to your customers and partners that far outweigh the monetary contribution of that service, money will flow in abundance. Easier said than done, yes… but always true!

Just as we enjoy being the catalyst between business executives that embark upon relationships with each other, it is even more enjoyable to highlight countries of the Caribbean, such as we are with Curacao in this edition. We interview the Prime Minister to discuss the beauty and attributes of Curacao for those looking to know more about the country. For some reason, Curacao is often hidden in the shadows of the Caribbean countries most mentioned. However, as the data suggests, Curacao is growing into a favorite tourist destination for many in North America and Europe. Experiencing monthly double-digit growth in stayover arrivals, and also the percentage of tourist revenue. In this edition we are happy to be featuring Curacao, but in subsequent editions we will be further featuring the enterprising business sector of the country, and the Best Practices of Economic and Business Development that those businesses employ.

That said, for those who have been considering Curacao amongst their bucket list of destinations to visit, let me recommend the upcoming Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival taking place August 30th thru September 1st. No matter your taste in music, you will be entertained by a lineup that includes Jason Derulo, Christina Aguilera, Stine and Shaggy, Sean Paul, and Patti Labelle. With your wine glass in hand, and your feet doing the boogie shuffle, please answer loudly when you hear me in the front yelling, “Who’s the bestest, most informative, most compelling, and furthest reaching business to business magazine with the widest circulation for executives in the Caribbean?”

Until next time, plan, build, and continue to prosper.
